However, the best places to find wind and waves on Corfu are the Acharavi beach in the north and Chalikounas beach on the east coast. The Acharavi beach is located on the northern tip of Corfu and enjoys the “mistral winds”, which provide good sailing and surfing conditions for intermediate and advanced surfers. The wild beach at Chalikounas is a great spot for surfers. There are few swimmers around, lots of natural beauty, and plenty of parking space. It doesn’t offer much in big waves, but the wind that blows off the west coast of Corfu makes it ideal for beginners and intermediate surfers.

However, Corfu’s casual surfing and sailing scenes can become quite challenging during the winter and autumn months. Waves can reach nearly 13 feet high, and winds often exceed the force. 

The east coast of Corfu, especially the beautiful natural marina at Gouvia, offers some amazing water-skiing opportunities and wakeboarding.
