Where to stay on the Wild Atlantic Way

Where to stay on the Wild Atlantic Way

The Wild Atlantic Way, a 2500km route along the Atlantic Coast of Ireland, is an exciting motorway. We’re here to help you choose suitable accommodation along the Wild Atlantic Way. Accommodation options along the epic route range from hostels, B&Bs, and B&Bs that cost as little as EUR20 per night to resorts with five-star amenities that can cost several hundred Euros.

Wild Atlantic Way Accommodation

We can only stay somewhere along the Wild Atlantic Way. We are only two. Please feel free to post a link or a suggestion in the comment section if you have any.

We planned our trip along the coast from Dublin and worked our way up the coast. We designed a route with a variety of accommodations to suit all budgets.

Camping is included in the longest-defined coast tour route. You can have the same experience as us, no matter your budget.

Here are Dave and Deb’s suggestions on Where to Stay along the Wild Atlantic Way.

The Wild Atlantic Way: The Best Places to Stay

From County Cork, we traveled up the coast of Ireland from south to north. Let’s begin there.

Stanely Guest House, Cork County

Stanley House Guest House, located in Schull West Cork. The Stanley House Guest House is located in Schull, West Cork.

Mizen Head is a short distance away and is an ideal base to explore Cork.

Another couple booked their stay at the guesthouse for two weeks while they explored the area.

The Moorings, County Kerry

The Hotel is located near the Ring of Kerry. You can make day trips and return to the restaurant in time for the evening meal. Gerard, the owner, is friendly and passionate about this area.

The Hotel is owned by him and his wife, Patricia, along with the adjacent pub, restaurant, and gift store.

The Bridge Bar has local music and, in the summer, across the street, they tell stories about the history of the fishing village and Skellig Islands.

Benners Hotel – Dingle

Dingle Benners Hotel is situated in the town of Dingle. We could have stayed there for days.

Dingle Benners has the charming old-world feel you would expect from the Wild Atlantic Way.

This historical Hotel is situated in the center of the town and is considered one of the best in the region. The oldest Hotel in the city, it’s filled with antiques and photographs that will take you back to a bygone era.

Doonegore Farmhouse, County Clare

Doonegore Farm House is situated in County Clare, just down the road from Cliffs of Moher.

Pat Sweeney owns this farm, which is the perfect place to stay to explore Ireland’s famous sea cliffs. Pat Sweeney runs daily walks between the town of Doolin and the cliffs. Pat and Mary run the farm as a working farm.

You may meet his well-behaved children at breakfast.

His son’s confidence and respect towards visitors and family impressed us. It’s rare to see kids behave so well these days, so we’d like to give the Sweeney’s a big thumbs up.

Dolphin Beach House – County Galway

Dolphin beach house is situated near the town of Clifden, Connemara. It is a great place to relax and unwind.

The Wild Atlantic Way is a great place to start your journey. You can visit Killary Harbour, Kylemore Abbey, and The Clifden Castle Walk nearby.

Dolphin Beach House has a modern and comfortable feel and a warm and inviting atmosphere. It is located directly on the beach. You can walk along the 14km rugged coastline or relax in the tranquil garden.

G Hotel Galway

The G_Hotel in Galway city was as chic and modern as you can get on the Wild Atlantic Way. We checked in at the G-Hotel on Easter Sunday, so we had little time to explore the city. Today was when we were thankful for not having the time to explore.

We were delighted to bask in our luxurious room and relax. The different themed dining rooms were our favorite part of the Hotel.

Pier House – Aran Islands

Pier Houseon Aran Islands is a must-stop on the Wild Atlantic Way. The Pier House in Inishmore is an excellent choice. The Pier House is at the ferry dock or a EUR5 ride from the airport. You can catch your flight back to the mainland any day of the week.

Rent a bicycle across the street to get around the island.

Westport Plaza Hotel – County Mayo

Westport Plaza Hotel is situated in the town of Westport, County Mayo. The Westport Plaza Hotel offers a family-friendly spot in the city’s heart.

The Hotel is located in a courtyard and offers several dining options. The spa is on-site, and the rooms have a cozy feel with jacuzzi bathtubs and interactive television.

Solis Lough Eske Castle – County Donegal

The Wild Atlantic Way offers many opportunities to stay at a castle. We had our chance in County Donegal at the Solis Lough Eske Castle Hotel.

Solis Eske Castle Hotel is a multi-award-winning hotel. It has been named Ireland’s Best Hotel, the World’s Luxury Hotel Award, and one of the best castle hotels worldwide.
