YOUR ESSENTIAL BEACH PACKING CHECKLIST: 12 THINGS YOU CAN’T FORGET

YOUR ESSENTIAL BEACH PACKING CHECKLIST: 12 THINGS YOU CAN’T FORGET

What would you choose to relax in? You could relax on the couch, watch TV, walk through the natural world, or soak up the sun at a beach.

Many people consider the beach a place to escape, relax and have fun. This is the vibe you should try to emulate when packing for a beach vacation or a trip on the beach. You shouldn’t stress about forgetting something.

This ultimate beach packing list is what I have put together to ensure that you can enjoy the sun, sand, and waves.

I have everything you need, whether you are looking for a quick trip to the beach or a week of luxury beach time.

What should you bring for a vacation to the beach?

The type of person you is will determine how much and what you should bring to the beach.

Some people will be content to just go with the flow and bring only their clothes and a towel to the beach. Others need to plan and ensure they have everything to get to the beach.

You might find that you don’t need all the items on this list. Or maybe you only need a few. Make your beach packing list work. So, let’s get started!

Essential beach items

You will need essential beach items, whether going to the beach for just one day or an extended vacation.

These are 12 things you should remember:

  1. Swimsuit – This is a must-have if you plan to swim.
  2. Towel -You’ll likely need something to lay on. Sand sticking to your whole body is not fun.
  3. Sunglasses– While sunglasses can look great and make you stand out on the beach, it is also essential to care for your eyes.
  4. Sunscream – Even if your skin doesn’t typically burn, it is essential to protect it. Sun cream can protect your skin from sunburn, cancer, and aging. Make sure you use reef-safe sunscreen, so you don’t harm the environment while swimming.
  5. SPF Lip Balm – This is often forgotten or overlooked, but it’s the worst after a day at sea.
  6. Sun hat – If you spend a lot of time in the sun, a sun hat will protect your skin from sunburn and help prevent sunstroke. It can also protect your eyes from the sun.
  7. Swim cover-ups – You should always have a few swim cover-ups for your vacation. While you can still dress respectfully, you can also walk or sit at a restaurant in your swimwear.
  8. Flip flops /sandals – Trainers are not recommended for the beach. Sand in your shoes can be a very unpleasant feeling. For easy removal, opt for flip-flops or sandals.
  9. Beach bag- Sand and sun cream can sometimes be a problem, so it is nice to have an extra bag for when things get. A large enough bag to hold everything you need is also important.
  10. Snacks- It can be hard to eat while lying on the beaches all day. To avoid getting too hungry, I always have snacks on hand — nuts, fruit, and crisps.
  11. Water -Bring plenty of water throughout the day. Sunstroke is not something anyone likes in the end.
  12. Rubbish bag – A rule of thumb I love to live by is that you should always make a place better than it was when you found it. Clear away all rubbish before you go. If there is rubbish, don’t forget to pick it up!

Additional things you can bring to the beach

  • A beach umbrella or tent is a must-have if you plan to spend a lot of time on the beach. This shade helps you stay cool and protects you from being burned.
  • Snorkel There’s so much under the sea. You can explore the underwater world with snorkel gear.
  • Water shoes It’s a good idea to research the beach before you go. Water shoes are a great way to save yourself from the awkward, painful walk to the beach if it is stony.
  • Portable speaker: Having your favorite music playing in the background adds to the atmosphere.
  • Cooler bag Warm drinks are not enjoyable or refreshing. To keep things cool, you might want to bring a cooler bag.
  • Beach games A football or bat with a ball can provide hours of entertainment. You can make so many different games with them.
  • Life can be hectic. Spend your time at the beach reading that book you have meant to finish for months.
  • Beach chair Some people prefer to rent a sun lounger when they go to the beach. If you plan on frequenting the beach, renting a chair is a good option.
  • Underwater camera Beaches are often full of fun memories. An underwater camera can capture moments in the ocean.
  • Inflatable It is extremely relaxing to lay on an inflatable and feel the gentle waves roll underneath. You can use them as sun loungers on the beach.

Ideas for beach destinations to plan your next vacation

Here are some ideas to help you decide where you want to go on your next vacation to the beach. These suggestions will help you plan your next vacation to the beach.

These are five amazing beaches for you to explore:

Brazil

Brazil has more than 2,000 beaches along its 4,650-mile coastline. But one we all know is the Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro. Brazil boasts some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. You can find the best of both worlds here.

If you prefer to visit beaches more off-the-beaten-track, the north of Brazil is dotted with beaches that most of us dream of. Imagine blue waters contrasted with snow-white sand and palm trees moving in the wind. Amazing!

Brazil is often a country people fall in love. There are more than 700 volunteer opportunities on Worldpackers Brazil.

Mexico

Mexico‘s coastlines are dotted with some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Mexico’s east coast is home to turquoise water, white-sand beaches, and boujee club beach clubs.

You can find the surfers haven on the west coast — amazing surf breaks, hipster beaches, and great vibes. The Baja Peninsula is a stunning area with clear waters and spectacular marine life.

Why not combine your beach vacation with volunteering? You can teach English to children and play sports at Puerto Vallarta, one of Mexico’s most renowned beach towns.

Thailand

Thailand contains 1,430 islands. Most people have heard of Koh Phi Phi Phi and Koh Samui. You don’t have to go to Thailand’s islands for idyllic beaches. There are great beaches on the mainland, too, like Krabi. It’s no surprise that Thailand is one of the most visited beach destinations worldwide.

The underwater scenery is as spectacular as the beaches. Thailand is a popular spot for snorkeling and diving. You should keep an eye out to see turtles, sharks, and whales, as well as rays and a variety of fish.

Volunteering in Thailand is an option if you are looking for more than two weeks on the beach. There are more than 50 opportunities on World packers. This includes helping at the farm on Koh Tao.

Philippines

Thailand’s popularity has surpassed that of the Philippines, which has seen a surge in tourist numbers. This makes it the ideal time to visit before it becomes too popular. It’s the perfect place to enjoy the ocean. It’s full of marine life and vibrant blue.

Surfers will find paradise on some of the islands, like Siagao. There are nearly 8,000 islands in the area. There is a beach for everyone.

Combine your time in the Philippines with a visit to an organic farm near Puerto Galera.

Hawaii

Hawaii offers a diverse mix of beaches. There are black-sand, white-sand, and even red-sand beaches. Each island is a unique archipelago that offers a unique vibe. There’s a beach here for everyone, whether you want to surf the world-famous Banzai Pipeline or read a book.

Although the water can be beautiful, you will often see stunning landscapes along the coastline in Hawaii.

Hawaii isn’t the most expensive place to visit. Save on Accommodation and Volunteer at this Permaculture Project.
